Social Studies Slam //Dawn Raids//

Social Studies Slam //Dawn Raids//
#2 by Caitlin
I think the dawn raid was wrong because….

Back in the 1970s New Zealand industry was coming
quite large and there were not enough people for all
the jobs so new Zealand government asked Aussies
British's Pacific islands and Samons  to come and have
some jobs and live here and the next thing you know all
the things jobs are running smoothly they got $140 a week
and that's a lot of money in there country, it could build them a
house !!!! but then the industry was shutting down and we
blamed it on dark-skinned people and we started taking away
at 2am in the morning and taking them back   to there countries
but only chocolate colored skinned people go taken back
and Maoris got pulled over and asked for ID because of their color

So that's a wee summary of the dawn raid now onto things
that were wrong on our part

1.why would we go and break into there house so early in
the morning it's not there fault they just need someone to blame
their lack of income on  you can go and approach them and say
please renew your passport or tell them that they don't need you
anymore

2.nz was very racist is very racist to judge someone by their
color of their skin it just like me saying to you I hate your
face change it it's part of them

In conclusion, we were in the wrong not them don't blame it on
them and it makes it look like where a racist country.

  1. Hi Caitlin,

Thanks for exploring this topic so well and giving a summary with the main points for us to take away. I like the way you have used emoji or emoticons (I am old, so I'm not down with the lingo) to tag your posts. It would be great to have a few other labels to help people find your work. Maybe try some key words eg. social slam, NZ history etc.

    Thanks!
